a quick fridge restock
Are you obsessed with refrigerator restock videos on TikTok and Instagram? It’s just something about cleaning, decluttering, and adding an almost picture perfect aesthetic by using storage containers. Having an organized refrigerator for me stems from my childhood. I remember visiting my Grandmother’s house and raiding hers- it’s a fond memory however in the process of finding some good snacks I would come across expired leftovers, fruits that needed to be thrown away, and it wasn’t pretty. Annoyed by the clutter she would allow me to clean it out for her- I remember those moments vividly- Mommom Joan!
Since moving into my first place in my early 20s I always made it a priority to keep my fridge clean and organized! Even my leftovers have specific carry out containers to keep the overall look aesthetically pleasing- it’s a must.
My Husband and daughters tend to follow my lead when it comes to the refrigerator too! Devon visited his Dad’s house and as we spoke on the phone he made a quick complaint about expired food- it was hilarious because it was the first time I realized my kitchen habits were rubbing off on him. My daughters love an organized fridge because it makes it easier for them to make snack and quick meal decisions independently. There are sections for fruits, veggies, cheese/lunch meat, lunchables/pre-made snacks, perfectly stored leftovers, yogurts, drinks, etc. That makes their pre-teen lives much easier in the meal department.
In conclusion, although this is a simple task the impact goes beyond aesthetics and social media. It teaches valuable lessons overall. Clean your fridge people! And have fun doing it! LOL!
